About Winter Park
Winter Park is located in Grand County, Colorado, and is situated at an elevation of 9,000 feet. The valley is surrounded by the Arapaho National Forest and three Wilderness areas: Indian Peaks, Byers Peak, and Vasquez. Nearby Rocky Mountain National Park has set aside 265,727 acres of natural land and wildlife habitat for the public to enjoy.
Tourism is the main source of industry in Winter Park and the surrounding area, while ranching and agriculture are the primary industry in western Grand County. The Town of Winter Park is 7.5 square miles, including the base village of Winter Park Resort – one of the most notable ski resorts in Colorado - and has long been popular with Denver metro residents. And with a name like Winter Park, it's easy to see why! Neighboring town Fraser is more service-oriented, housing a grocery store, elementary school, library, town hall, and drug store. Winter Park is only 90 minutes northwest of Denver, 90 minutes from Summit County, and two hours from the Vail Valley. Winter Park is easy to get to from Denver International Aiport, fly in from wherever and hop on the Winter Park Express Ski Train and be whisked away to Winter Park.

However, the snow gives way to a beautiful summertime setting thats ideal for hikers, bikers, fishers and horseback riders. If you love being on the water, Winter Park is close to some of the largest lakes in Colorado - Granby and Grand Lake.
