The city of Salida is located in central Colorado and it’s the most populous city in Chaffee County. Chaffee County is home to the most mountains with an elevation of 14,000+ feet, otherwise know as 14ers, in the state, so there is a lot of beautiful terrain surrounding Salida. Chaffee County is a favorite among Coloradans because of the vast amount of seasonal activities, no matter the season you can have fun in this part of the state. Salida has many trails and open spaces with trails for hiking and biking. Of course you can challenge yourself by conquering a 14'er, or several as Salida has the most 14,000 mountain peaks in Colorado!
