Black Forest is located in Central Colorado, near Colorado Springs, and is part of El Paso County. The community got its name due to the high density of Ponderosa Pines that is reminiscent of the Black Forest in Germany.
The city offers breathtaking views of Pikes Peak and the Front Range, with access to Sawatch Mountain range. The Black Forest itself is heavily wooded with some open grassland areas. The center of town offers a community center, volunteer fire station, churches, and a county store.
Black Forest also has a reputation as “one of the world’s most haunted places,” with spooky stories of paranormal activity.
