Commerce City

As a suburb just northeast of Denver, Commerce City is both a residential and industrial city that is known for a great quality of life and booming growth. Over the past decade, Commerce City has more than doubled in size. According to Forbes magazine, Commerce City is the second fastest growing area in Colorado and the 16th fastest growing city in the country. Despite its growth Commerce City still maintains a small, friendly image and has a population of less than 45,000 residents.

Commerce City has real estate options feature several nice neighborhoods that have a welcoming feel to them with tons of entertainment options nearby. The city has plenty of shopping and dining choices available and is only minutes away from all that Denver has to offer. Parents see Commerce City as a good place to raise a family with excellent schools and Commerce City supports America's military families through the Silver Star Families of America.

As the core of business and commerce in the Denver metro area, Commerce City is often recognized for its oil refinery, which produces 90,000 barrels a day. The city has a historic downtown and the Commerce City Economic Development Division is committed to providing jobs and developing local businesses.

Encouraging an active lifestyle, Commerce City is home to 18 parks, a 15,000-acre wildlife refuge, and many recreation activities for people of all ages. The city hosts parades, a Christmas tree lighting and is home to Denver's biggest fireworks show during the fourth of July. The fireworks take place in Dick's Sporting Good Park, which is one of the one of the nicest soccer facilities in the country and home to Denver's professional soccer team, the Colorado Rapids.

Commerce City also provides neighborhood outreach programs to get their citizens involved in the community and is a great place to spend time having fun with friends and family. Another spot that is popular amongst locals is the Mile High Greyhound Park dog track where the city hosts greyhound racing.
