Located on the west side of the Hogback rock formation, Morrison is a hidden gem with its rugged terrain, gorgeous green hills and mountain town atmosphere. Many of these fossils are on display in The Morrison Natural History Museum, including rare adult Stegosaurus tracks from the area. Other dinosaur footprints and tracks from the Cretaceous age can be seen right off the road at Dinosaur Ridge where you can even view and explore one of the original dig sites. Also close to Morrison is the LoDaisKa archaeological site where human artifacts have been found dating back to 3000 BC. The area’s ever-changing rock formations are a constant reminder of Colorado’s close connection with its ancient past.

Stroll down Bear Creek Avenue and Stone Street in central Morrison and you’ll find world-class restaurants next to quirky local shops. It’s a great area to grab dinner or drinks before a concert at Red Rocks.
