The city of Englewood is located directly south of Denver and right in the heart of the South Platte River Valley, east of the Front Range. Home to 30,000 residents, it’s an ideal place for those who enjoy a quieter small town feel with easy access to the big city lights of Denver. One thing that’s very confusing to people not familiar with the area is that Englewood is used as a mailing address over a wide swath of unincorporated Arapahoe county, which means you can live next to Cherry Creek Reservoir or even in Centennial and appear to have an Englewood address.

Englewood offers an abundance of recreational possibilities including several recreation centers, 12 parks and over 250 acres of open space. One of the biggest attractions is Pirates Cove Family Aquatic Center, a water park filled with attractions and rides. During hot summer days, it’s a great place for the whole family to enjoy water slides or relax in one of several leisure pools.

Englewood first started during the Gold Rush days of the South Platte River. Northwest Englewood is where you'll find downtown and the oldest neighborhoods in the city. This area is also home toCityCenter Englewood, a 55-acre redevelopment project that many point to as a model for intelligent city planning. One of just a handful of places in the country where a suburban shopping mall was replaced by a mixed-use downtown, the area includes a central public place surrounded by shops, office buildings, housing, a public library, an art museum, a light rail transit station, outdoor performance space and lots of walkable streets and outdoor sculptures.

Englewood is home to both industrial and residential areas as well as Belleview Park, the city’s largest. Here you’ll also find Swedish Medical Center and Craig Hospital, one of the largest hospitals in the Denver area. Another local claim to fame is the fact that Englewood provides both water and snowplow services to a good portion of the metro area.

Families will find excellent schools in Englewood, with children served by the Englewood, Littleton or Cherry Creek school systems. The city is also boasts several private schools and Colorado's Finest Alternative High School.
