Preparing Your Home

Trimming the hedges, mowing and trimming the lawn, and sweeping all of the walks will make that first impression a lasting one.
Repaint any exterior areas on the house as needed for a clean smooth look.
Repair or replace any broken features of the house such as: steps, windows, screens, etc.
Clean the entire interior of the house.
Arrange the furniture in an appealing fashion.
Clean out the closets of the house and make sure the home is free from unnecessary clutter.

Showing Your Home

Make sure the garage door is closed and no vehicles are blocking the drive-way.
Open curtains and blinds during the day; keep interior and exterior lights on at night.
Have the heat or air conditioning on at a confortable level.
Remain in the background, or if possible, be absent when the agent shows your home. (Note: Some buyers feel uncomfortable going through a home when the owner is present)
